Water bus lines to Mazzorbo, how to get there from Venice historic center and from the islands and tips for buying tickets
Mazzorbo is an island in the northern lagoon located northwest of Burano, to which it is connected by the Ponte Longo, and east of Torcello, which can be reached by a water bus line in 5 minutes.
The island was already frequented in the Mycenaean era but developed rapidly thanks to the flight of the inhabitants of Altino caused by the invasion of the Lombards in the 6th century AD. Perhaps its name derives from the Latin maior urbs which means big city.
The island of Mazzorbo can only be reached by water bus. The choice of lines depends on where you are in the historic center of Venice.
• From Venice to Mazzorbo: Line 12 from Fondamente Nove, Line 14 from San Marco to Burano (then on foot for 3 minutes crossing a bridge you arrive in Mazzorbo), Night lines: Line NLN from Fondamente Nove.
